3D Printer Recommendations

Our top choices for new and experienced users

Daniel English

On this page, we’ve gathered a list of our top recommended 3D printers, based on our experience using a wide range of machines from most of the well-known 3D printer manufacturers. These printers are the ones that we’ve personally had the most success with and can confidently recommend, whether you’re new to 3D printing or looking to add another machine to your collection.

If you’re interested in doing additional research into choosing a 3D printer, be sure to check out our FDM 3D printer buying guide, where we cover all of the factors to consider when buying a printer to help you narrow down which features you’re most interested in.

These are our favorite 3D printers, and the ones we’d recommend most:

Best All Around 3D Printer: Bambu Lab P1S

undefined

Price Range:

The Bambu Lab P1S is one of the best 3D printers we’ve ever used, by all measures. It’s fast, produces very high quality printed parts, and is very simple to set up and use. Although it’s more expensive than some of our other recommended printers, we do think the P1S justifies its higher price with better performance and a simpler user experience than most other 3D printers.

If you get a P1S, we strongly recommend purchasing the AMS multi-color printing add-on. The AMS allows the P1S to print with up to four colors at once or print from any of the four spools on demand for single color prints, which is a unique capability that isn’t available on most other 3D printers. The AMS can be purchased separately, but it’s available with the P1S in a combo kit on Bambu Lab’s online store at a lower cost than buying the two products separately.

Best Entry Level 3D Printer: Creality Ender 3 V3 KE

undefined

Price Range:

The Creality Ender 3 V3 KE has an impressive set of features, especially considering its low price. It can print faster and in higher quality than most other printers in its class, and is one of the most affordable printers we’ve seen with WiFi connectivity. We’ve been using Creality 3D printers for a long time and have always appreciated their value and repairability, but with the Ender 3 V3 KE, we feel that they’ve taken a step further in overall quality and functionality. This is the 3D printer we’re recommending right now for users who don’t want to spring for the Bambu Lab P1S, or who want more of an ability to upgrade or repair their printer with third-party parts, which is an area where Creality offers more than Bambu Lab.

Great For A Budget: Creality Ender 3 V3 SE

undefined

Price Range:

The Creality Ender 3 V3 SE is the lower-priced little brother of the Ender 3 V3 KE, but it’s still a 3D printer that we’ve used extensively and been impressed by. Although it lacks a few of the KE’s features such as WiFi printing, it gets the basics right, with automatic bed leveling and a reasonably fast print speed. We’ve found it to be reliable and its print quality, while not quite as high as the Ender 3 V3 KE or Bambu P1S, is comparable to or better than other 3D printers in its class. If budget is important to you, we think the Ender 3 V3 SE is the right choice.

Looking For More Options?

While the 3D printers on this page are our top recommendations, there are plenty of great machines out there that each provide a different combination of features and trade-offs. For example, if you want a 3D printer capable of printing larger parts, or want one that can fit on a small desk, you may want to browse our 3D printer database to see all of your options. On that page, you can view all printers, or filter down to only the ones that we think are best in each category. On the other hand, if you’d like to learn more about each feature and how they might affect your enjoyment of a new printer before browsing the printer database, be sure to check out our 3D printer buying guide.
